Deep sea research vessel
Jacques Cousteau, the world famous deep sea explorer, is back with a new and bigger sub. It is called 'Exploration Un'. He is joined by his trusty shipmates Jean De La Mer and Sue Marran.
He and his crew can view sea life out of the huge dome at the front, out of the octagonal window at the rear, and through the transparent bay doors on the top of the sub.

The sub's propellers are at the end of two 'arms'. The 'arms' can be rotated in a semicircle to propel the sub in different directions. For example, when the 'arms' are horizontal the propellers face backwards and propel the sub forwards.
Submersible
This sub's driver is called Sue Marran. Her partner is diving outside the sub. His name is Jacques Cousteau, the world famous deep sea explorer. If a shark gets too close to Jacques, he will bop it on the nose!
Octanaut minsub
The submarine uses an octagonal canopy. Oct means 8. Naut comes from the word nautilus, which means sailor.
To put the canopy on top of the minisub, the black frame for the canopy needs to be horizontal. When it's horizontal you can only attach it to the rest of the minisub by using a studs-on-side technique. Here the frame is attached to a bracket inside the sub.

The minisub has an escape hatch in the hull. This is made with the trap door piece and a round black slide shoe. The slide shoe keeps the door in place until you push the door down.
Jacques Cousteau is operating the minisub. He's ready to go on another underwater adventure to explore the depths of the ocean. Good luck Jacques! As Jacques is French we can say, "Bonne chance Jacques!"

Cargo ship - 8th birthday present
It has a clever crane that you can use to lift heavy crates. You can move a crate along the ship's deck by moving the crane's side rod up or down. You can move the crate from the ship to the land by turning the crane's turntable. The captain has a proper ship's wheel to steer the ship.
