MI-10 Harke
Russia built this helicopter in the 1960s. It had two ways it could carry heavy objects. One way was to lift the object with a winch. Another way was to carry an object on a platform. The platform was connected to the helicopter's undercarriage - see picture below.
MI-26 Halo helicopter
The Halo is the largest helicopter ever. It is even larger than the Chinook. It is so powerful it can carry an aeroplane! When it is used to transport people, it can carry 82 passengers. It is also really useful as a rescue vehicle. It can fly to a disaster site and take up to 60 injured people on stretchers away to hospital.

Stunt helicopter flies upside down!
Helicopter aerobatics are dangerous, so only the most able pilots are allowed to do them. This stunt helicopter is flown by Chuck Aaron. Chuck is one of only three pilots in the world who are allowed to do these dangerous stunts.
In 2004 he took on a challenge. He decided to work out how to perform aerobatics in a helicopter. He thought of the aerobatic stunts he wanted to do. He then modified and tested a helicopter to see if it could perform them. Two years later he had completed his challenge and he flew helicopter at an air show.

Chuck first flew a helicopter at age 20. He flew helicopters as a crop-duster and later as a traffic reporter. He then became stunt pilot for films and television. He has even rebuilt three helicopters from leftover parts.
Today, Chuck has spent more than 20,000 hours in the air and performed aerobatics at more than 150 air shows.
