Antarctica
The scientists put radio tags on the penguins to track when they go out to find food and when they come back. They are timing how long the penguins spend in the ocean to give them an idea of how many fish there are nearby. If it’s taking the penguins a very long time to go out and find food, it means the number of fish has gone down. The scientists give this data to agencies that set commercial fishing limits to protect the entire ecosystem. The agencies can then lower the maximum amount of fish that fishermen can catch.
